St John's local, since the 17th century

Chef cooking over fire

L'Auberge Du Nord

L'Auberge Du Nord has stood at the heart of St John since the 17th century. What began as a private residence became a working farm, and in the late 1940s, it opened its doors as a pub. Those doors haven't stopped welcoming people since. Look closely above the fireplace, and you can still see the initials of the very first family who called this place home. That kind of history doesn't leave a building. It settles into the walls, the beams and the bar. Today, L'Auberge Du Nord is one of Jersey's most cherished locals. A place for long lunches, cold pints after a north coast walk, lazy Sunday roasts with the family and big celebrations with everyone you love. There's a sun-soaked beer garden for the good days, a cosy bar for the quieter ones, and a kitchen that keeps things honest whatever the season. Come as you are and stay as long as you like.

Good Food and a Well-Stocked Bar

Our kitchen takes pub food seriously. The menu runs from hearty bar classics to something a little more considered. Think beer-battered cod and triple-cooked chips, a proper Jersey beef burger, Asian pork ribs, and a 10oz Irish rib eye. Starters range from garlic and chilli king prawns to duck gyozas and truffle honey goat's cheese bonbons. On Sundays, we do things properly. A set menu of roasts, starters and desserts that's become something of a weekly ritual for a lot of our regulars. Sirloin of beef, porchetta, chicken and a mushroom wellington for the table. All the trimmings. All the time you need to enjoy it.
